Bio:
Hi, I’m Anne. I’m a full time artist and a part time floral designer. I was born in Shropshire, England and moved to Canada with my family as a girl. (The Leafs haven’t won the cup since I arrived, but please don’t blame me!) I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember; my current medium of choice is acrylic with which I enjoy painting the beautiful Meaford scenery, still life, especially apples, along with other subject matter such as birds, animals and sea creatures. I’ve been known to add some funky colours and whimsy to my art. Whatever I’m painting, my goal is to bring a sense of peace and happiness to the viewer.

My inspiration:
The first artist who inspired me to paint was my Dad. I still use the easel he built for me in my early teens. As for famous artists, I’ve always loved the work of Robert Bateman and Glen Loates. Classic artists, my favourites include Claude Monet and the quirkiness of Salvador Dali.
One of my most exciting opportunities:
I was commissioned to create marionette style puppets of the members of the alternative rock band The Headstones to be used in the music video for their song ‘Cubically Contained’. Years after the video was shot, the puppets were auctioned off.
If I had absolute power:
…..I would absolutely love the ability to move things with my mind. I wouldn’t use it for trickery… probably. I would also love to be able to fully communicate with animals.
