I am an avid Watercolourist but also paint using other mediums. I was born in The Netherlands in 1952 and immigrated to Canada with my family at the age of five. I painted from my childhood to college but then pursued a career in nursing. Twenty-five years ago I became passionate about painting once again, and attended many art classes and workshops. I continues to take classes to improve my skills. Most of my inspiration comes from the beautiful local Grey County/ Meaford Ontario countryside.

I am the President of the Meaford Creative Arts Association (MCAA) and the workshop co-ordinator for the club. I facilitate the annual Art Show and Sale at The Rotary Harbour Pavilion.

Over the years, I have won several awards, and my paintings are found in many private collections in Canada and internationally, and have had solos shows in several prestigious galleries. My work is featured in the “Great Canadian Masters Cookbook” sold at museums and Art galleries across Canada celebrating 150 years of creative excellence.

My favorite charity is Cystic Fibrosis, to which I donates artwork for their annual fundraiser. I have also donated paintings to Save Georgian Bay fundraising events and several other charities.!

Van Gogh + Monet.

Being a mother, nurse, artist and musician, I have lived long enough to be able to follow many of my dreams and more. I have a new list of dreams for my next life if I get that chance as there are many more adventures to explore.

If I had absolute power I would stop greed, wars and competitiveness. If I could I would make life equal for all. No more unnecessary suffering. I would hope to be able to eradicate disease and protect our beautiful environment so it would be sustainable forever.
